Check out our flying insect colony. It’s currently the size of a cantaloupe .

Hornets, wasps, or other?

In any case that doesn’t look like its going to be fun to deal with.

They are yellow jackets, I’ll deal with it in the early morning when they are cold. It’s about 15-20 feet up in the air so yeah it’s gonna be difficult.

I shot it with a BB gun and that was determined to be unsafe. I sprinted back to the house as they swarmed out.

Mix Gojo, simple green, and a little water, and use a pump sprayer to blast it through the opening. Once you hit them with it, they won’t be able fly and you can knock down the nest and stomp it or burn it.

I have used tire wet before and it worked amazingly well but it doesn’t have the range.

Hot Shot hornet & wasp spray. shoots a fairly good stream, and the instant it touches them they go into a seizure of sorts.

Can confirm, it only lacks the fire aspect of a solution.

We used to use a big coffee can on a stick with charcoal. Set up an umbrella base near the nest on the ground, put a handful of charcoal briquette coals in the can, stick the can over the nest, slide the can to the side to knock it off the structure, then stick the stick in the umbrella base. Watch them burn to death.

I’ve seen commercial ones that use propane, too.
