Here is some unsolicited advice from a recovering alcoholic: pour that shit out and find something else to do with your evening. Anything else. Call someone, Email, watch a movie, read a book, sit in the dark. Booze won’t help any. I tried to drink away the pain for years and it simply doesn’t work.

First off, help is like a parachute. Doesn’t do you any good if you need one and don’t get it in time.
Second, I’m nearly a professional rum consumption artist. For what you have here you really want to get yourself ginger beer or ginger ale or even Sprite if it’s all you’ve got. The world doesn’t need a fully wide awake drunk so skip the caffeine. Orange juice is also a nice mixer but I find it a little too sweet and leaves a residue that I dislike.

That’s true. I’m still not used to asking for emotional help unless it’s offered; even then, I still feel bad because negativity drives people away and I can’t be happy always even when I try. This time was a true first time when I actually felt something negatively strong in a good while. An actual heartaching, head hurting sad.

In jest: I feel that way just reading the news most days.
Not in jest: Some aspects and periods of life are completely unfair and hellishly so. We all literally need each other in order to survive. I’m not one to reach out when I hurt either but I think of it as a take a penny leave a penny jar. Right now I’m putting a penny in the jar for future me so that when I need some kind words hopefully they’ll be there.

If you have some Coca-Cola and limes laying around, you can make yourself a Cuba Libre! Really it should be with Bacardi, Don Q, or my personal favorites, Zaya or Kraken, but any dark rum will do.
Just take it easy though. One time I was pounding Cuba Libres back to back hooked into a VR headset watching music visualizations through Winamp, and I think I might have accidentally caused some severe psychological trauma.
