Could have bought one of them many years ago. Didn’t. Could have also bought Suzuki Cappucino or Toyota Sera, but didn’t either.

As everyone else has said, Honda Beat. But, I’ll go one further and help explain it to him.

Honda Beat, built from 1991 to 1996. 656cc, SOHC 3-cylinder, the E07A. Puts out 63 hp. Weighs a tad under 1,700 lbs, only equipped with a 5-speed manual. Top speed of 135 km/h (84 mph).

The Beat was one of a trio of kei sports cars, commonly known as the ABCs of kei cars. A being the Autozam AZ-1 (1992-95), B being this, and C being the Suzuki Cappuccino (1991-97, the longest production span of the three).

The Beat is also the predecessor to Honda’s current kei sports car, the S660.

The ABCs also influenced another kei convertible in the 00's, the Daihatsu Copen (2002-12 (first generation), 2014-present (second generation).

The Beat was also the last car to be approved for production by Honda’s founder, Soichiro Honda, before his death in 1991. This basically makes the Beat to Honda as the F40 is to Ferrari (as the F40 was the last car approved by Enzo himself before his passing, three years earlier).

Also akin to Ferrari...the car’s design was actually a Pininfarina one, who sold the design plan to Honda. Around 33,600 or so were built, most (around 2/3) in the first year alone.

Well, Flavien can get him one. Getting someone 6'7" into one will be a completely different challenge!
