Tires are a “bit” beat. But they still have very good grip on wet and dry pavement. And on steepdirt/gravel/rock hillclimbs, if you were wondering. Dunlop Direzza ZII star spec’s pass the “are they worth it” test with flying colors. Oh and looks like I’ll have to roll my fret fenders a bit. It’s not awful, but they have bent a bit
I should have checked that *before* loosening all the lug nuts. (edit) removed the castor wheels, gave me about .3" of extra clearance.... Just enough to work!

I had the same thing happen when a friend drove 400 miles with his brothers truck and a dolly to pick up the 525i. No matter what we tried we couldn’t get under the car to get it onto the dolly. Given that it was 10pm and he had to work the next day we had to call it quits and I had to pay a flatbed several hundred to transport the car...

Time to replace that trolley jack with a real floor jack. You’ll love it! Ramps (low-profile ones) will work in the meantime, though.

Low clearance jack. I’ve got one of those Harbor Freight Daytona 3 ton ones and there’s a ton of room under my Miata. Best $200 tool I’ve ever bought.

Sadly I broke a belt on my ZII * specs before they got that worn -big rock, high speed- (too worn, you really shouldn’t be driving on those), but I agree, they hit the “worth it” button pretty hard and keep mashing it for all it’s worth. Nothing with that little tread should be that resistant to hydroplaning and have such good wet traction, not to mention they have killer dry grip and great limit manners.

I used them through winter as well. They’re fantastic in cold, at least down to the twenty degrees in my area. This year I’m getting dedicated winter tires, but come spring... Star specs again

It’s an impressive jack, you could lift several Miatas with it, haha. It’s all rebuildable, grease fittings everywhere, a legitimately nice jack, not just nice for the money.

I’m hearing good things about Harbor Freight’s jacks, even the sub-$100 ones. Mine’s a Neiko low-profile jack, but I wish I’d have shopped around first and gotten a dual-cylinder jack like HF’s “rapid pump” series of jacks. That rapid pump feature and the low profile are the top two features I’d look out for.

The harbor freight 1.5t aluminum “racing jacks” work pretty damn well and are pretty good for lower cars
