Last week I took a little drive across one of my country’s more interesting roads: the Afsluitdijk.

A 30 something km road on a dyke seperating the ijsselmeer lake with the ocean.

It is quite a sight the first time you drive on this long stretch of road between all that water.

Then later on in the weekend we pulled into a parking garage in the lovely town of Sneek, upon entry, the angle of the ramp was steeper than I anticipated. so I slammed the front bumper, hard... #stancelyfe #stocksuspensiontho???

anyways, all that was rectified by the eye candy that was parked in said garage:

The Celica made the 400-500 km round trip without skipping a beat, and it still only plays 80's music without sounding too awful. On the way back, just as I parked, I hit a new milestone:

And to this day, about 3 years into ownership of this car, my first car, a true barnfind, it has never let me down or has left me stranded. (knocks on wood)

A deux chevaux and a GTO can you find a pair of cars that contrast more than those? Cool garage find.

That front bumper makes the Celica look 67% sexier. Also coupe, also brown!

Call me crazy, but I’ve always been fascinated by Euro-spec Japanese cars. I’m not talking grey imports, but the ones you buy at your local dealership.

I like seeing the little differences between them and their US/JDM counterparts.

In Japan, my car would have been the Corona Coupe, this:

The big difference being the fixed headlights instead of the pop-up headlights.

Mine is not the most original Euro-spec Celica out there, because mine has some tuner parts from the late 80's installed (I bought it like that)

a German front bumper (Richter), British side skirts (Silver Knight) and Austrian (FHC) spoiler, its a real mishmash of euro tuner parts..

What makes mine more rare is that it is a coupe instead of a more common liftback. (liftbacks are more desireable with the 2.0 instead of the 1.6 mine has)

Actually the front bumper is a Postert, not a Richter!

It is from Postert. Made in Germany, apparantly it was a dealer option I just found out! I don’t think mine was, seeing as it has some other mishmashed tuner parts on it.
