Kinja'd!!!

I ordered the QTP 3.5 inch exhaust cutout kit on Amazon, and were heading 8 hours North through Maine for a fishing trip. It’s a long drive but the fishing is worth it.

The kit should be here in about a week. Will do a full review of it.

We’re just getting off the 70mph part of I 95. The Thooper Dooty is almost touching 13 mpg

I had a QTP cutout it was more show than go but it made for quite a bit of fun. Money well spent.

Oh absolutely. No power gains expected. Just NOIZE when I want it.

This isn’t a brag despite that it sounds like one - mine was a 3" that went on a Mazdaspeed Protege, running a t3/t4 60 trim with an external wastegate and open dump tube. So you’d get some chuckles with the dump tube anytime you romped on it but then you could look at your passenger like BRUH CHECK THIS OUT BISH and flip the QTP open and it was just boy racer silly in the best fuckin’ way.

Fuck, I miss that thing.

definitely sounds more nostalgic than braggy. Makes me want to do something like that for the giggles

of all the upgrades i did, the ones that made noise were the best. SSQV, the oversize turbo*/open dump, and the cutout. phones didn’t take video back then so i doubt i have something where i toggled it in the cabin.

*(a t3/t4 60 trim sounds comically oversize for the protege but that was a weird engine where it fizzled out toward the top end, and 2554 was too small... so it would get up in RPM, and it would be like your favorite song or something - where it’s all building up, like working its way through the bridge about to come back to the hook with this glorious soundgasm, like YES, YES TAKE IT TO THE LIMIT and then fall flat on its face. a t3 60 trim was hypothetically the same issue. a t3 super 60 was probably the right turbo for it BUT LOOK I GOTTA WORK WITH WHAT WAS AVAILABLE TO ME)

I’d love to hear how it works for you. I’m pretty close to doing a pair for my S8 to bypass the mufflers. I don’t want to spend $2k on a full exhaust, but I can swing a couple hundred to get the sound when I want it.

Kinda depends on the exhaust you have and your power output. I saw a gain of about 10 on my cobra, which had catless x mid pipes and stock mufflers.

Knew someone who saw a difference of about 30 at the wheels in their D1SC lS2 C6. Stock cat back and mufflers but LT’s from LGM I believe. I think out makes more of a difference the more power you make.

I’m a huge proponent of cutouts over the obnoxious exhaust setups that so many other people favor.

Yeah I mean it obviously depends where you put it and what stuff you have behind it. If you already have aftermarket from the head all the way back like I did it doesn’t do a ton. 7-10 seems probably par but by the time you buy it and have it welded in that’s not a super cost effective mod.
