I was in Arizona and saw a deal on an introductory flight lesson in Phoenix that I just could not pass up.
I showed up to Classic Air Aviation on Monday morning and was greeted by my instructor. It was a one on one lesson which was awesome. He spent about ten minutes going over safety information and how the plane worked, and then we climbed in to the small Cessna.
The plane was smaller than anything I’ve been in before, but was not cramped. There were two sets of controls that worked in tandem for the pilot and co-pilot. The instructor handled the start-up, throttle, etc. but actually let me take the controls to take off, fly around, and touch down! It was much more involvement than I would have thought would be allowed, and I had a fantastic time.

If you do, check if there are any grass strip airfields in your area. One near me for only about $25 more will do an intro in a Stearman.
They also have a soaring club that uses the field, and you can get an intro in a glider.
