Kinja'd!!!

I start with with a K20, mounted in the middle.

Kinja'd!!!

I leave the paint alone. Maybe some subtle fender flares.

Kinja'd!!!

Then all the supporting mods. It be cheaper to hot rod it then go back to original.

It’s little, but it sure looks like there’s room for a lot of engine behind the driver/ahead of the rear axle. Maybe a Hemi with exhaust going out the back window and a giant supercharger with the intake sticking out the roof.

4-AGE with the transaxle from an AW11 MR2. Rear-engine action!

Put the engine of a smart in the rear with a manual transmission, cut a huge hole in the roof for a sweet glass roof, change the paint to something resembling a smart, then badge it as “smart formore”. ;)

I would.....restore it to original spec and enjoy it and the value that brings as original Multiplas are relatively rare and hold a lot of their value! :P

Moto Guzzi V twin engine. I would keep the paint the same with a clear coat to protect it. Fix the mechanicals and repair the interrior.

P.S. Is that a bullet hole where the drivers head would be?

Or clean it, hollow it out, and make it a clubhouse for the kids? That’d go over big in my neighborhood.

Fixing the mechanicals would not be expensive at all. Even if the block were cracked or something you could always fit a later one from a Fiat 600 (in some places they were made until 1985). If you really want something with more pep I’d suggest an Autobianchi A112 Abarth engine, good for 70 hp. That’s what most “Abarth-style” restomod Fiat 600s use nowadays.

I’d be more worried about the state of the nether parts of the bodywork.

Leaving the paint “as is” – if the steel is solid, that is – is not such a bad idea, although personally I dislike the way it looks. If you wanted to go sillier you can always paint it as a NY Checker Cab (or as a Carabinieri patrol car or whatever)

On the other hand, as Mr RallyDarkStrike has pointed out, Multipla survivors are quite rare and it would be a pity to mess up with it too much, or in such a way that makes it impossible to take it back to original spec.

i would make it a look like an ed roth cartoon......

Kinja'd!!!

i would kick the nose up in the air about 2 1/2 feet, put a straight axle under the front end. i would put a big block inside the cab, up in the front of the nose, with the exhaust exiting where the front wheels are now...... the driver would get moved to where the back seat is now. big monster sized rear wheels on a narrowed ford 9 inch rear, three link rear suspension. manual 4 speed......
