I was never much of a fan back in the 80s, but as I’ve aged I’ve come to appreciate them a whole lot more. I think they have turned out to be one of the few bands that fully encapsulated, yet still transcended, the 80s sound. A sound that I miss.

Saw them in concert in the late 80s. Erasure opened for them. We were surrounded by preteens who screamed for Simon and brought in lighters to wave during the slower songs. But even then I knew their music was good enough to outlive that kind of audience.
