At last, I am free of them, but I really want to go back to running. Might be a few days :/. School starts next week, so hoping for a quick recovery. Not feeling too bad except for slight pain in the back of my jaw, but that was to be expected. Overall not a bad operation.

Oh well, looking forward to a good school year. (No, I didn’t get any video of me on anesthesia, lol).

I woke up covered in blood the day after I had my wisdom teeth out. Not something I want to experience again.

I remember getting that done, and going to work that afternoon with my mouth all numb. Customers were all speaking very slowly and deliberately to me, like they thought I was some government mandated special needs hire.

Hah, I had a similar experience. Immediately after I left from the clinic my wife stopped the car at a gas station to fill up. Instead of her getting out of the car to get gas — and mind you, I had just woken up from general anesthesia barely 10 minutes prior and still had a wad of bloody gauze in my mouth — she wanted me to do it. As I wasn’t at the top of my cognitive capabilities, I stepped out of the car, walked up to the counter and ordered “gan I haff dwawnde bugf awn mumbaw du”. Twice, ‘cause the guy behind the counter didn’t understand the first time. He seemed a bit spooked.

The next day, I went to work hopped up to my eyeballs in percocet and laughing at every little thing. That was probably the best thing to come out of removing my wisdom teeth.

Damn, I don’t recall getting Percocet, nice perk. Or, maybe I did, and forgot. It was like 16 years ago and I would have been somewhat high.

Ohhh i get to tell my one tough guy story I have.

I drove myself to the oral surgeon and got 4 wisdom teeth pulled 2 of them were “impacted” aka sideway. All that on my lunch break with nothing but a bit if Novacane and went right back to work. It was pretty awesome. I couldn’t really talk much..

A couple of mine looked like troll tooth up there.

I woke up in the middle of having mine removed because they failed at knocking me out properly. My parents could hear me screaming in the waiting room; apparently I traumatized the next guy waiting to have his done.

I still have nerve damage, 11 years later.

This surgery was when we discovered I am particularly sensitive to some painkillers and anesthesia. It worked so well that they had to carry me to the car afterward. For the next four days, I would wake up, eat a little food, take my pills, then immediately go back to sleep. They instructed us to “stay ahead” of the pain by not skipping any of the pills. I returned to normal after we ran out of the pain meds.

Strange experience.

It was purely lack of money, insurance, and ability to take time off from work. Joke was on them when I showed up after lunch drooling and useless.

If your procedure goes well, like mine, you should be able to go back the day after (get a note for gym class, though, and bring soft food with you). My experience has been a better one. Hope yours goes the same!

Eh, better than the other way. I woke up screaming during mine because they didn’t knock me out enough.
