How difficult is it for non-portuguese speakers to get by in Brazil? Would Spanish, German, Italian be well received?

I mean, it really depends, I live in the most populous city in the southern hemisphere. São Paulo looks like this, most places you actually want to go to have english menus and people are fine with English and Spanish.
But there are places like this, actually, aside from Rio and some other capitals, most of Brazil looks like this:
In places like this, I imagine it is very difficult to get by being a non-portuguese speaker.

Here some places do credit card over the Internet, some at the door, they will also accept cash at the door but more and more are accepting Paypal for convenience.
It’s good, but sometimes it’s just too convenient.

Gotcha. How receptive of outsiders are most middle class Brazilians? I have only interacted with Brazilians when I lived in Japan, and they were awesome welcoming people much like I typically expect of latinos. (Are Brazilians considered Latino?)
