There’s a new 2017 RAM 1500 4x4 Crew Cab in the family, stock tires are 275/60 R20. Is there any reason why I can’t replace all four tires with 275/65 R20? Same exact width, each tire is just one inch greater in diameter, results in about a half inch raise all around. Thoughts?

Speedo will be 3.3%/2 mph off, for whatever that’s worth.

Bruh. You’ll need a half inch body lift. The best way will be taking loose the body mounts and jamming in about four suspension shims each.

Or not.

Absolutely no reason you can’t. And you’re still within the range that the dealership can adjust your speedometer.

Should be fine. As crowmolly pointed out, speedo will be off.

If you were to go much larger, as in several inches, you’d need to check for tire clearance and rub, but 0.5-1” taller, no biggie.

Can I just remove the seats and windshield so the truck rides higher

You can raise the rear shackles, though. Use 2x4 - it’s easy to drill.

Speedo will be off, but you can get that corrected.

It’ll change your speedometer a little, but fine otherwise. I went 2" taller on FZJ80's tires.

I can’t see the issue, especially since it seems like there is plenty of room in the arches

tire size calc says 1.1 inches taller, so you would need .55 inches of extra wheel well clearance.

That truck though is notorious for swallowing big tires in its arches.

Put what ever you want on that doesn’t rub. I went from 245/75r16s to 285/75r16s with no ill effects

That’s not a tire size calc.

Also count your blessings that link wasn’t something else.

Well...it had tires in it didn’t it? So picky.

285/75/16s with no lift looked pretty awesome on it, and I guess 305s would have fit too.

Probably close enough. It’ll throw off the speedo a bit, unless you reprogram it.

Which suspension? Air or spring?

The rear shouldn’t be a problem. If you have the spring suspension and need a smidgen more room in the front, you can get a new set of adjustable struts that will give a bit of lift - Bilsteins run ~$250 + install.

You can also buy an AEV Procal to fix the speedo for ~$170.
