"You Should Rent Out Your Truck As A Photo Booth..."

... someone said to me today, seeing this all set up. I am loaning my truck to the university in my town as a part of some event, and people are loving it. They had me park it between the two most iconic buildings on campus, and they put a giant picture frame with chairs nearby for photo ops. I’ve been daily driving it to work, so it’s a little weird to suddenly have all this attention directed toward it, where it’s been lurking in regular parking lots around campus all summer. Side note: it was fun driving to work and just blowing by the parking lot, stopping right in the middle of the quad like a boss.

But hey, maybe they’re on to something! Or, maybe I don’t need people climbing all over this thing every weekend. Yeah...

I can’t even come to the event, it’s my son’s 5th birthday tonight. He already got a little remote-controlled M3 (it was $8). Maybe I can convince him to come down for a post-birthday cake picture with the truck. I have to admit, it’s a cool setting. And I think they might get upset if I try and park there again tomorrow.

That’s funny. I’ve never seen something like that before. Great truck. It is quite photogenic.

My wife and I have taken it to a couple weddings, actually. And in one I know the photographer spotted it and spent some time with it and the bride and groom.

Lol, one bale of hay. So they didn’t pay you to put it there? I’m not sure I’d be so willing, after seeing the kind of stunts people pull.

I like it. Maybe get McMike to photoshop your son in if you can’t get there in time. :)

You could see about renting it as the “drive-off” vehicle for weddings...

You’ll probably end up with some people sitting on the bales waiting for the hay ride to start lol.

Are they giving you that hay in exchange for writing on your windows?

Aaaaaand I came in this morning to move the truck off the lawn and the hay bales are still in it. Mind you, there were hay bales all over the place for the event. They cleaned up all of them, except the two in my truck. I guess they assumed that I could use them?! I guess I’ll bring them home and let my kids climb on them.

Oh I remember your truck, you just commented on the M37 I will probably buy. That is a cool Fire Dept. rig. I have found several M37s that were used by the Canadian Police and Fire, but they strip off all the military lights etc.. so restoration has a lot more pieces to find and you often have to correct things they did to it.

One thing I like about this truck is that it’s been messed with, painted, etc. but no major changes. I believe it’s all the original body, bed, engine, transmission, that kind of stuff. But if I want to touch up a spot of peeling paint by scraping it off and brushing on some matching paint, that’s fine.

That M37 looks amazing, and I want to know a lot more about it.
