Forgot totally and there aren’t any empty boxes around... fortunately there’s plenty of scrap wood.
Waaay overkill but it should work. At least if the drill battery charges in time ( DAMMIT!! ).
Also: Are those holes in the foil small enough? I thought they were supposed to be smaller. I want to be sure because I’m not sure if I’m going to have a chance for a trial run...

You can simply drill a hole in the center of one of those boards, set the other on the ground, and hold the one over the other. No need for advanced carpentry.
Not sure about the hole size. The guy on the video used a nail. I used a pencil. If it’s too big, I’ve got plenty of time to swap it out. Might try using a hole punch for a nice round hole.

I don’t think that would work though because of the thickness of the board. To me the principle of the pinhole camera says the image would just die in the hole. It’s very likely that I’m wrong but I’m not going to risk it.
And thanks. If the guy you saw used a nail, that’s another thing I’ve got plenty of here... I’ll use that. I can always make a bigger hole if I need to but making a new sheet with a smaller one takes time.

Well the most coverage we are supposed to get was at 10:15 and I can’t see any discernible difference, the clouds must be distributing light because I see nothing unusual.

We’ve got big puffy clouds that obscure the sun from time to time, but it’s definitely getting dimmer, and the light has a sort of gray tinge to it. A while ago, when the sun went behind a cloud, I excitedly called my boys outside to see how dark it was getting. Troll Dad Level Expert.

Rather than take a chance I took a double layer of masking tape and put the point of my knife through it. Didn’t have time to add more foil.
Not perfect, but not too bad.
Had some light leaks too but they were out of the way.
