Never seen this before. It says Nissan XE on the back. I’m not a connoisseur of pickups, and my quick google search didn’t find one quite like it. The closest I can find is a 1995 XE.

Kinja'd!!!

It’s kinda cute

I had a white one in Hawaii for a few years.

Hardbody! I like the 90s Nissan pickups.

I have one sitting at my mom’s house. Look up Nissan Hardbody if you want to learn more.

Wrong-o! That’s a D21 Hardbody, a.k.a. the Nissan Truck, the direct predecessor to the D22 Frontier/Navara and the brother of the WD21 Pathfinder.

The Nissan 720 (a.k.a. the Nissan Datsun, and previously the Datsun 720) looks like this:

It looks like it has a pathfinder front end, but maybe they both just have the same front end and I never noticed

I didn’t find pics of a pathfinder with that same grille.

Cool. Google also shows me a wiki for Datsun truck.

Ungreyed for speaking the truth.

A 720 would be far more interesting and “rare.”

Looks like it’d be just the right size for small farm or rural home living.

I believe the Pathfinder and the Hardbody are essentially the same mechanically, just different body styles.

D21. The 720 was the predecessor with quad sealed-beams

POWER! UNLIMITED POWEEERRR!

Sadly all the 720s have rusted into truck heaven. Even the model kits (the good ones) are hard to find. The kit here, had I not picked up a gluebombed disaster that some 10-year-old attempted to assemble in the 80s, is worth over $200 new.

yep - I had a 1990 Hardbody just like that in charcoal, 5spd manual 4cyl, same rear bumper delete and everything. It was a super fun and useful rig - I miss it.

When I turned 16 (‘97), the local Nissan dealer was advertising brand new base model Nissan Hardbodies for like $7,800. I had about half that saved, but I couldn’t convince my dad to help me with the other half.

That must have been heartbreaking. Theyre so cute. And I don’t even like trucks.

I was more upset a few years later, when I did the math. My dad made me buy my mom’s ‘89 Oldsmobile Toronado Trofeo from them for $3000. While that was a pretty nice an cool car, it promptly fell the shit apart. In less than three years my dad and I each dumped $2500 into that Olds. So for $200 more I had a hooptie POS that got junked, instead of a truck that could have easily lasted 200-300k miles. That’s when I really realized what I missed out on.

It’s just a Nissan Hardbody, there are tons of them. Same as the smaller Toyota they used to make. Used the same computer as a Sentra.

Oh no! That sucks. And I say that as a huge fan of the Trofeo. My dad had one, and he road that baby until it had nothing left in it. Great car. I’m sorry you got stuck with one on the down side of the curve.

My dad had bought it new, and he loved the car more than any he’d ever had. At the time, my mom had become a realtor and was finally going to have to buy a 4-door vehicle. My dad couldn’t bear to see the Trofeo go, so he mandated that I buy it. I loved the car too, but it became apparent that the Trofeo was not going to get me through college when we were moving me back to college for my sophomore year. My parents then helped me buy a lightly used S-10, and my dad decided to keep the Trofeo as their condo car (they had purchased a condo in Clearwater, FL). He dumped another couple grand into it, before a problem with the ABS system that nobody could fix forced him to junk it. Those original high pressure ABS systems were a bitch to service, and when it would fail it would do so in a way that made it near impossible to stop.

I wish I still had the seats from that car. The 12-way power adjustable buckets were nothing less than magnificent.

It did feel special. When I needed a new car, my dad tried to convince me to get a used Trofeo with around 50k on it. But at the time, I wouldn’t consider used. I bought a new Riviera instead. That cars engine cratered at 86k, and I had to have it hauled away. Wish I’d listened to Dad.
