Put my free new low profile license plate on the Jag. Also put some Lucas oil stabilizer in it. It almost completely killed the knocking noise, so hopefully it can be idled around without causing much more damage due to the thick oil cushioning the bearings. IDK. I quickly grow sick of the logistics of rebuilding this damn engine.

If the oil stabilizer quieted it down, I’d throw some 20W-50 in it (and the stabilizer again) and bet you could drive it (relatively gently) a bit longer while figuring out details on the rebuild.

I6, floors rusted out but teh frame is clean. Bought for $600 by my neighbor. When he got it it had no coolant and no oil in it. Now it has both but the coolant likes to disappear but isn’t showing up in the exhaust or oil so he has no clue where it’s going. Runs good though.

Those slant sixes run forever. I’ve heard of people running them out of oil, completely locking them up, and then having them start the next day. Probably not true, but they are very reliable.
