Found this neat little aviation museum off Rt258 in Hampton, VA. Thought Oppo might like to see.

B-36's are huge. That must be one massive bomb it is dropping if the scale is correct.

The museum guide told us it was an old windtunnel model that NASA used. It doesn’t look it in the pic but it was pretty battered from the front.

I think it’s a model for a Ryan XV-5 Vertifan:

Interestingly, the first one is not a Harrier, but a Kestrel (XV-6A). I was looking for pics when it was in better shape, but couldn’t find any. However, the 2nd NASA Kestrel is in much better shape at the Virginia Air and Space Center (apparently also in Hampton):

Wow, that is magnificant looking. We didn’t even realize that museum was in Hampton until our last night, we drove past it around 9pm and I was bummed out that I didn’t know about it. There’s always next year.

It was called the Air Power Park. It was small but it was also free.

I lived in Norfolk for a number of years, but never made it there, or Lagley, or Ft. Eustis. I missed out.
