At C&C this morning, I parked next to my friend’s FiST and noticed something I hadn’t really noticed before. Well, let me preface this, I had noticed it, but hadn’t really put a lot of thought in it. I noticed that my car looked lower. After making sure it wasn’t the parking angle, we agreed that next time we saw each other, he would bring a tape measurer. It just so happened that we went to another meet tonight, and he brought one. On top of him bringing one:
Five test subjects were at my disposal. So I went to town measuring all of them.
THE VERDICT: For whatever reason, my car is half an inch lower than all of them.
So did the dealer that originally had the car install lowering springs?

Different and more plausible theory. You live down a rough road right? Maybe your driving down the road all the time settled the springs more then the other duty cycles

It’s no lower than when I lived on a paved road/driveway. It’s always had almost no wheel gap.

Well I don’t know about that but your friend has good taste with his color and wheel choice!
Mine for some reason came with the Ford Performance carbon fiber shift knob. I guess the dealer decided to install the 90 dollar shift knob only to lose that 90 after the sale.

It handles like other FiSTs, and there is no extra body roll. And again, it hasn’t dropped any since new.

Hmm were the other FiSTs from the same year? Model years may have changed valving slightly or (are these Bilsteins?) your batch of shocks were slightly different. But really, it’s not a bad thing. Much better than the other way around if your car came from factory with a huge wheelgap compared to others.
