I FINALLY drove a WRX Premium. The wife likes it a lot more then she thought she would too! The problem I’m having is the WRX may be *too* fast to have fun without driving incredibly too fast.

Impressions. Apparently we can’t get the Recaro seats without deleting the sunroof which really sucks. It was noticeably louder then the FoST on the inside but in general much nicer then expected. Overall I think we both like the FoST experience more, but the WRX makes more sense. CRAP.

I’m curious, what about the WRX makes more sense?

Counterpoint: get a 2013 STI hatch.

It pretty much doesn’t depreciate is the big one. Back seat is bigger, AWD, and a few other things. One that’s kind of a weird plus is that my dad doesn’t want me to get a Ford because so many people trust his opinion and he’s been telling people not to buy a Ford(used vehicles with ecoboosta and people that don’t have as much $) and it could make him look bad.

Because it for damn sure would make zero sense to my family.

Counterpoint the FoST interior is already nicer then the 2017 and and the 2013 is way worse.

That’d be kinda lame to not buy a car because family dosent want to look poor

It’s a bit more complicated then that. He owns a auto repair shop and it could be pretty hypocritical

I didn’t say it right the first time. He tells people that are looking at used cars not to get a Ford with the turbo even though I’d be buying a brand new car that would probably be sold around the time the warranty ends but people don’t put that thing together and it would be like I ignored my own dads advice

Counter-counterpoint: the WRX hatches are awesome and hold their value like they are made of gold.

Counterpoint-all WRXs seem to hold their value like gold

The Ford shifter is way better than the WRX, but everything else ergonomically is better in the WRX. Back seat space and trunk space are way bigger on the WRX.

But the hatches hold even better because there isn’t a new version of the hatch.

The only thing WRX’s don’t hold like Bitcoin is head gaskets.

Yeah My thing is I want my car to be a nice place to be, especially with me spending a good bit on it. Also, I want my wife to enjoy riding in the car and not hating when we have to take *the other car*

As long as I’m not replacing a Turbo the head gasket can’t be *that bad*

I ignored my dads (a former high value wholesale car dealer) and bought a land rover. Mostly because i wanted one, but also because there were no 4x4 4runners or land cruisers for sale in my price range when i bought the Rover 9 years ago.

As a recent used Lexus buyer, I totally get what you mean.

if you ever replace the turbo (probably out of warranty by that point) you just need to be upgrading turbo

“As a recent used Lexus buyer”... that’s a fantastic sentence haha. My first question every time we started a test drive was “what do you think wife”

You can’t put a price on an interior that doesn’t have any dash rattles. My only regret is not buying used Luxury cars sooner (but not really, because $$$)

I bought a 2014 WRX hatch new. I drove but didn’t buy the FOST because it was smaller and the Recaros were uncomfortable to me. The kids liked the space in the WRX over the FOST. I didn’t get the STi because it was just a bit too rough for a daily driver.

I love that the WRX is fast. I don’t love how loud it is inside. I also don’t love the stereo. It has Bluetooth issues and it just doesn’t sound that great. It didn’t have any squeaks or rattles until it was wrecked last year. If Subaru comes out with a new WRX hatch, I’ll trade this one in for a new one.

The Recaros fit me perfectly in the FoST and my wife(5'2" 105lbs) didn’t understand what I was talking about when I said it held me snug . Just felt like my Lexus seat on her, especially on the ST-3. The FoST also seemed like it had lot elf the “slow car fast” feel which I liked. Ugg.
