Replaced a few more vacuum lines today, that eliminated the blowback! But still not firing. This is with manually filling the bowls, spraying some starting fluid inside, and cranking. New video:

Battery is back on the charger again. Any more ideas? I feel like I’m close...

No idea as carbs are still witchcraft to me but I think I have the same green powerwheel in my garage.

Ok. So holy trinity, looks like fuel and air ok, spark next. I would go back over the coil and distributor, sounds like it wants to start. I’ll have to look over your older posts and see what you’ve already touched.

What kind of choke does that have? My ‘79 had a hot air unit that was rusted solid.

Sounds like it wants to go. Is this a points distributor or HEI?

Is it getting fuel?

So close. Sounds like a timing issue. Can you have someone spin the distributor while you crank?

Given that you’ve taken the ignition system all the way from the timing chain down to the plugs, I’d start looking at the carb.

Did you manually fill the bowls or did you manually pour gas down the venturis? I’d try pouring some gas (not a shit load, use your judgement) down the venturis and see if it kicks over.

i had told him in a previous post, in a different thread, how to fill up the float bowl through the vent tube. there SHOULD be fuel IN the carb........ at least enough to start, or atleast cough with........

Gotcha. I was wondering if the carb itself is the issue. So the bowls get full but the fuel is blocked.

You can hear it catch for a split second a few times.
