I kind of hate that he went to that much trouble wringing horsies out of a 440 when there are 472 and up(572!) Hemis available for a man who’s deranged enough to *really* want a Doom Wagon. Otherwise, a more normal 440 would have been fine.

It doesn’t sound like he went to that much trouble. No stroker kit or aftermarket heads or roller cam. Just carb/intake/headers/cam and probably some decent compression. Big Block mopars certainly are not cheap but is probably 10-15K less then a 472 Hemi.

Well, yes. I’m just grumbling/mumbling (gr’mumbing?) that it’s not a $6500 untuned 440 wagon, either to use as as or get the option of $2k toward a *really* silly power option.

Having owned a ‘69 complete with vinyl woodgrain on the sides, there is no comparison with today’s minivans and crossovers. I’m going to go pour one out for Plymouth and those long gone engineers with a dream...

Neighbors had one (brown/fake wood) and I got to drive it a couple times. First time I drove something with power brakes, and I nearly launched myself through the windshield ... glad there were seatbelts back in the old days.

Me and my brother had a ‘70 sedan Fury III with souped up 440 years ago. It was bright red and white white vinyl top. It had been crashed earlier and it had ‘71 front end. It was extremely thirsty car compared to anything I had owned ever. 40 l/ 100 km was possible without trying much.
