I wonder if it was originally an industrial Early Hemi or an automotive one. They made the Early Hemi for industrial applications like power units as well, and there wasn’t a whole lot different other than the bellhousing pattern - which would be a plus for a boat install because Chrysler provided support frames and things, but ChrisCraft ordered plain-Jane auto versions of MEL V8s and others later in the ‘50s, so...

It was. I’m not sure if the glass=fiberglass is just a clever retroactive axiom for these or whether someone up-engined an Early Hemi or other Chrysler powered ChrisCraft and called it that.
