There are really only two remaining issues with the Miata: the AC needs to be charged and the brakes are gross. So I’m answering one of those concerns.

Kinja'd!!!

The pads are StopTech Streets, the rotors are regular Centric rotors but with a black coating on the edge and hub to prevent rust. The pads are supposed to be good for street/very light track use, and I’ve heard any rotors fancier than these are kind of a waste on a basically stock NA Miata. I nearly bought slotted/drilled rotors and sportier pads, but I think this setup is more than enough.

My only problem now is that it’s 90 degrees with 100% humidity today, so my job this afternoon is going to be clearing out my garage so I can do this in air conditioned comfort any day this week.

Weird coincidence. My centric black rotors are for a 2 though, but I have the same set up on my Miata.

How do you like them? I’ve heard good things about the pads and rotors both.

They’re great, I recommend them to everyone now since they’re so inexpensive
