Because there’s no way I’m fitting my two kids in the back of a Mustang or Camaro vert when they’re older and I can finally afford a car like this. If it takes until 2021 like Allpar sez for the new Challenger, that’s just fine with me.

I’ve always wondered why they don’t. It looks great as a vert. I wonder if it has to do with chasis stiffness issues.

A convertible was in the original plans when the car was first designed, economy measures around the 2009 bankruptcy led to it being shelved, and eventually cancelled. At this point, the car is too old to justify the expensive of adding another body style.

The new challenger is supposed to get the same platform that the Giulia uses. A giulia coupe would be much smaller than the current challenger.
The next Challenger probably won’t be an autozam, but I wouldn’t get your hopes up of fitting adults in it’s back seat. Just have a coach builder vert the current chally for you.

I’ve read the new Challenger (or Barracuda) will have a vert, and be a lot lighter than the current piggy. Win.

I’ve also read it will be smaller; hopefully not too much smaller as the ability to put real people in the back seat is what sets the current car apart from the Camstang. Don’t know how I feel about a convert that wasn’t engineered by the factory though. And what is autozam?
