I’ll miss you, Jack.

I let him outside one last time today. He loved to eat grass. He’d just nibble on grass and roll around for a bit. He was such a good boy. My mom got sick recently (not physically) and was (and sort of still is) unable to leave the house much. When it first happened, he never left her side.

At first, he kinda wasn’t. He was your typical cat- independent, didn’t really want attention, and if you tried to give it to him, he either ran or bit at you.

When my first dog, Dixie, passed away, he changed completely. Loved attention, and didn’t bite. I already miss him. I hope they’re playing together again, wherever they are.

Our vet has a cat called Jack with the same color combo. But he’s fatter, and seems to always be asleep when we go in.

And I’ve said the same thing here before - you did all you could, and you acted before your cat suffered. Lili was 18, and we had to let her go in 2013. We, like you, did the very best we could.

Sorry for your loss. My brother had a cat almost identical to Jack - the cat was named “Stupid” (affectionately), very affectionate sociable small and somewhat slight cat who loved attention, and one of the few cats I have seen who liked to ride in a car. When Stupid passed, my brother buried him in the backyard in his favorite blanket. Something about orange cats.

Jack had one of my baby blankets that I loved. Since I have another one that is identical, I let Dad wrap him in it. (I couldn’t have gone- it would have killed me)
