Will this solve my overheating issue?

Kinja'd!!!

I fucking hope so. It’s loud as fuck, too.

Edit: 51 degrees when playing Siege versus 89. That’s better.

Earlier this week I learned you can bend copper tubing like that real tight if you fill it with salt first. I only say that cause it kind of looks like the tubing flattened a little on the right side.

Thanks. It prevents danger to the manifold, too.

Looks a bit small to fit your radiator bro.

It’s supposed to be like that (I hope).

Was going to make a joke about it being small for a car fan. Work is slow today.

Nah, just right. I’ll need more fans for the 240 mm rad that I’ll probably be putting in my next build.

Yeah, this wouldn’t do much. I wonder how many fans you’d need for a car radiator.

Just pickin’ - I’ve always been a bit nervous with water cooling...

Strange for something that improved your cooling to be louder, especially considering that looks like a 92 or 120 fan. Maybe you need to go in and adjust the CPU fan curve.

What is that and how much did you pay? It looks like a Hyper 212 but cheaper. Not many aftermarket coolers try to recreate the Intel pushpin locking mechanism.

It’s a Cooler Master Hyper T2. Cost me $28 CAD after tax. It’s probably louder because it’s an actually decent fan, as I was using the stock Intel cooler originally. It’s solid, but I fucking hate the pushpins.

A bunch placed around critical parts would maybe work better than a bunch at the front

Closed loop systems I’m less worried about.

Someone bent an Accelero S2 cooler to fit in a case with tight clearances. It normally would look like this:

Did you set the fan speed to Cessna take off or something?

That is impressive. I really want to know how those tubes didn’t get collapse. I wonder if the fins helped support it, but how did they bend it without bending the fins?

Cessna? Is this amateur hour? Q800 or bust.

I would say you got screwed on that price but I’m pretty sure you’re aware of how Canada Dollars are screwing you on most things nowadays. That cooler is $17 US.

Bigger fans should be quieter as they should be spinning at a lower RPM. 51 C is really low for air. You could easily let it heat up a bit and deal with less noise. I’d definitely play with the BIOS settings.

Those aren’t any old copper tubes. Those are heat pipes.

Will do.

And yeah, but I also wanted to go to a local place and not have to deal with shipping costs/waiting. $17 USD is about $21.38 CAD right now. Fan was $25.82 before tax, and considering it’s currently $25 plus $7 shipping on Newegg or $23 on Amazon, I’m fine with the price.

Cooler Master makes good stuff.

Moving air makes noise period. There’s not much you can do about it other than get a bigger fan or move the air slower.

This is what I ended up getting:

Kinja'd!!!

Noctua NH-D14.

It’s ahhh...overkill. And large. Very Large. I didn’t know it’d be that large. But it’s dead silent. My PSU fan makes more noise.

I would have done more research into coolers, but I’m planning to do a rebuild sooner rather than later. But damn, that looks like just the right kind of overkill.

Love me some Noctua. Never used one of their coolers but if it’s anything like the build quality of the fans, I’d be happy.
