It looks like you can shrink-wrap yourself in this. I absolutely love it. It’s just a few LED strips away from being a TRON bike.
But I question the use of a disc in the front wheels, I mean they went that far with integrating everything so you’d think they’d have gone for aerodynamic calipers.

About the front disc: there’s no need for a brake track, so the wheel can be designed to perfectly transition into the tire, preventing flow separation. I do expect aerodynamic disc brake covers to start showing up soon.

I’m guessing the fork crown is a bigger area of improvement than the wheel brake tracks. But its just a guess.

This is where we actually are! You can buy this. (Although I’m pretty sure it’s illegal for pro/uci/usac use, not sure about tri) On the other hand, if this were legal for mass start racing, I’m pretty sure I’d opt out. As someone who races in the pro/1/2 field, it’s already sketchy enough on standard road bikes.

I don’t thin keven USAT age groupers would be aloowed to use this. I remember when my dad’s training buddy got that Cervelo One, the judges at Memphis in May Olympic DQ’d his time from the list (it used to a be an Ironman qualifying race).

Possibly. There’s a couple of wind tunnel tests out there, but they mostly look at the overall picture.

Starts at $4k. Cheaper than a decent full squish MTB. Knowing what I know now, always buy bikes used. Anyhow, this thing isn’t even that expensive for being a halo bike. The issue is that you can get a used bike that’s only slightly less efficient (and legal) for around $2k. BTW, if you ever buy an ‘expensive’ bike, you’re gonna want to ride it all the time. “I spent what on that? Better go for a ride!”

Lol, I have 4 bikes and not one of them cost less than 2k to build. I’m in the deep end so to speak. 8500 miles/450 hours per year, 90% road 10% CX/MTB.
