Another review purchase e-mail and a review item e-mail.
Seriously. I go on the internet,
find the item I want,
pay for the item,
tell them where to send it,
they confirm order and dispatch,
it arrives.
I did my bit, you did you bit. That’s that. I swear one day it’ll come to a point you’ll walk out a store and someone with a clipboard will ask, ‘how did you rate your purchasing experience today?’.
Case in point.
Bought some OEM rubber mats for a colleagues Ford B-Max.
Seriously, review a set of car rubber mats?
Sod the hell off. I’ve done the crap required of me on eBay for the purchase.
What’s to say about car rubber mats that people don’t already know, which is why they are looking for them.
Ruddy FEEFO, to review my purchase with Polished Bliss for five litres of a water based degreaser.
I want it, you sell it, I buy it, you send it, I receive it.

The plus side is they will go to great lengths to get a good review. Example, they once sent me the wrong size glasspack, so after back n forth for a couple weeks they just sent me a second one for free.(not ideal but not bad). Bought some car parts they showed up damaged, I asked for a partial refund(because the part was still usable and I didn’t want to send it back), I named my price and they refunded it. Ive got more stories like this too. If they didn’t worry about bad reviews I would’ve been out of luck on those parts

In the U.K. (for my store at least) there is a link to a price comparison website to see if your shopping could of been cheaper elsewhere and get twice the difference back next time you shop.

If the item isn’t what I ordered or as ordered I’d send it back and complain but annoying people requesting reviews doesn’t endear me to posting a happy review.
I once bought some Cima Sealant from Migliore (great product) in the U.S. and after four weeks I still hadn’t received it so e-mailed them. They had moved warehouse and as an apology for forgetting to send a $49.99 bottle of Cima Sealant, they added a $399.99 6oz pot of Migliore Presidenziale wax for free.
Worth checking out Migliore products.

Though it was nice of them, I gave the wax away as I’m not a waxer. Gave it to a mate who (and his mate) collect Porsches.

I’d consider products like that but my cars a POS, plus I have a hard time justifying expensive(I’m assuming they’re expensive, the site wasn’t loading) waxes when I could use that money for a new taillight or something.

The Cima Sealant is a sealant spray that flashes off quickly and doesn’t smear. Great for dark coloured cars where a small smear can be a PITA.
It’s $49.99 for the large bottle which will do about 10+ cars.
Unfortunately my friend (whos car I clean) has commandeered it for keeping her stainless steel fridge and glass surfaces clean in the kitchen.

Counterpoint: internet shopping would suck if everybody thought like you. Amazon is no longer the cheapest for most items but you have access to tons of reviews and answered questions on things you may think are trivial.
A rubber mat is just a rubber mat right? Well maybe it would be nice to know that a certain brand has a strong chemical smell, or that it is slightly off in fit, or that the mat wears down under your pedal foot.
Example: I just bought an adapter to add aux input to my stock head unit. There are many reviews on the ipod versions but i bought one with no reviews because it has a plain usb input so it works with android and iphone. If it comes and works great, I will 100% write a review so others who are looking for one can save money and time and get the right product.
That being said I dont disagree with your mindset and if I were lazier I wouldn’t care. Just pointing out that that mindset would ruin online shopping in a lot of ways. Youre already saving a physical trip to the store, might as well review an item every once in a while (just my logic)

If the review request was in the order confirmation such as, ‘now you have bought the item, would you care to leave a review in your own time?’.
I’d be more than happy with that.
There are so many inane reviews anyway.

Unfortunately no, Amazon does the same thing. Best you can do, is have them filtered into your Spam folder.
What I find annoying is all the buyers sending messages for me to leave them positive feedback. Seller feedback is worthless, I can only leave positive feedback for buyers. They took away the ability to leave negative feedback as a seller. If a buyer can leave me negative feedback, I should be able to do the same. Not out of spite, but sometimes people are scammers and deserve it. I should also have the right to block buyers below a certain rating from buying or bidding on my items. They allow sellers to block buyers with unpaid item strikes, but they just create another username and continue with their nonsense.
