Jeep has the Trailhawk trim and the Toyota is debuting the Adventure and TRD trim later this year for its crossovers.

Kinja'd!!!

These aren’t crazy off road destroying monsters but they are just slightly more capable than the standard models that they’re based off of.

Kinja'd!!!

I’m surprised that other manufacturers haven’t released similar offerings. An Equinox Z71 or Escape Fx4 would fill the niche of the person who wants a ZR2 or Raptor but can’t afford it or have the room for it.

I think other manufacturers realize they can’t compete with Jeep in offroadyness, because the Cherokee was designed from the ground up to be off-road capable, where as others are only meant to be comfortable and feel safe.

Plus the Jeep has a brand image on it’s side so where it only takes a lift, knobby tires, and red tow hooks to convince people to buy a Trailhawk, i think it would take a lot more for people to buy into a trail ready Escape or Equinox.

Win all that said I would love to see a true small off-road SUV, like The Bronco II come back.

I think they’re psyching themselves out. I’d much rather have the GM or Ford equivalent of the Trailhawks if for nothing more than reliability and build quality.

Toyota and Subaru are going to start running away with this market with no other competitors besides Jeep

The Bronco II never went away, it became the Explorer...that said they “killed” it off when they eliminated the 2 door. On that same note, Jeep added 2 doors to the Wrangler and they sell like hot cakes, so maybe adding the 2 doors was not so bad. Bronco II still exists, just got fat and a name change.

1986 Bronco II was my first vehicle.

But the current Explorer is closer to a Windstar than it is a first gen Explorer.

What needs to happen is a Crosstrek WRX, or XT.

I’ll stand by the Bronco II.

It got....soft. I became so mainstream and adopted as every soccer moms dream vehicle. Jeep kept making rough riding(some more comfortable than others), capable off road vehicles. They have certainly become even more popular than they were, but they still have that edge to them.

the Forster XT worked fine and that was ultimately the same thing as a Crosstrek a lifted Impreza.

1. The trailhawks actually have the minimum amount of cred to be considered off road vehicles.

2. The adventure trim is a total cheap cash in on the XVs success

3. Why other manufactures arent following suite is beyond me, its a cheap easy cash in thats a no brainer.

4. 2017 - Where a Recreation Activity Vehicle 4wd (RAV4) needs a silly cosmetic trim package to convince buyers its an adventure machine.

Just because OJ is coming back doesn’t mean the Bronco II needs to return too.

Even the shear mention of the god forsaken equinox gives me flashbacks....

And I live with one.... Help me.

My Buick cannot take this kind of punishment much longer

Thank God my mom’s lease is almost up on that pos

That was a Bronco, not a Bronco II.

Bronco was F-150 based, Bronco II was a Ranger. And smaller truck=better trail rig.

LOL at the eco tires on the Rav4 which makes it 100% no more capable that before

I’m not saying that it’s the real deal, but it definitely attracts a different type of buyer. A “rugged” version of a company’s compact crossover offering seems like a no brainer trim level to offer.

I agree I feel like they should offer it! It would probably sell well, I just wish the Rav4 looked less lame

Yeah, it definitely doesn’t have the same punch as the Trailhawks lol.
