Kinja'd!!!

In the last few years, I have started picking up paid speaking engagements. It is really fun, and not very hard work. I have to drive 180 miles to SF Thursday afternoon, hit a Giants game with employees of the event organizer, and stay in a paid-for hotel (expense account dinner, yo). Friday, I am the keynote speaker to a bunch of livestock people, then another Giants game with them, return Sat. morning. It pays well, and is not difficult.

I am giving serious thought to taking the Sunchaser to SF. The Infiniti is more comfy, but I kind of want to take a spin around the Bay area before coming home Saturday.

Being paid to speak is the best thing in the world. No paid job short of prostitution would bring me more joy.

I think I’d leave the sun chaser home. It can’t be replaced if it gets damaged. 101 traffic is the worst anywhere in California, then there is driving in downtown SF. I’d rent a Hyundai.

A lot of my favorite roads here are closed, so check that before you come. Winter was rough on them and landslides killed many-a-good-corner.

Yes. Drive the Sunchaser. Bring tools just in case. It’ll be fun!

Sounds nds like a good gig. Enjoy it. Take the car too, because why not?

I do some speaking at industry events and it can be fun. The Europeans didn’t get my Star Trek references in a speech I gave in Spain last year though. I also did my first consulting work last month. The pay for 2.5 hours of work makes my eyes water.

That sounds like a good change of pace from your regular work. I am glad you are able to do that
