Tomorrow I’m going to call a couple local contractors and arrange to get estimates to pour the end of my driveway, which is gravel for whatever reason (the rest is concrete in decent shape). The area is about 17x12 and butts up to the road. Who can guess what it’ll cost? I have a rough idea (not my first rodeo) but guess-the-cost is always a fun Oppo game.
Winner will receive nothing in particular, and will be announced when I get the estimates. No price-is-right here, closest overall wins, even if it’s over.

Do you need a proper gravel sub base for the concrete work and is it included in this game if so? Also are driveways typically 4" thick or 6" by you

I’m guessing about 600-800
When i built my 42x28 house slab i sorta over did it. The thinest part is about 10 inches. I have a 2 foot footing that is about 18 inches high and a center footing that is 4 feet wide by 42 feet long that is 12-14 inches
It cost me about 6000$ in concrete alone. I made a heated slab, and wanted a mass to keep the heat. Now my slab is at 22c or 72f all year long

It’s gravel now but yeah it’ll need cleaned out, a bit of gravel, formed, etc. Being the pull-off from the road it’ll probably be 5-6", though the rest of the driveway is 4.

My dad put in the stuff to heat the basement floor when he built his house, remarkably he still hasn’t hooked it up.
That said, I’ll shit a brick if it’s that cheap (that should cover the material though).

In my area, $1500. Most of that is just the cost of getting them there. I had my garage slab, parking area, and sidewalk to the house done for $5500.

I have a small area of sidewalk I’m going to find out how much it would cost me to have them do if I had it done while they did the driveway (the cost-to-guess though is just the driveway). I was planning on doing it myself, but like you said, most of the cost is getting them there - they could easily form and pour it while the driveway sets, then go brush the driveway and finish the sidewalk.

You only asked the price on the pour, I didn’t factor in the work arround the pour.
And I love my heated slab. My is a glycol/water system with a 12kw boiler.
