They have an agreement with the owner of WWC to park there. They make sure the lot is clean, have painted the half wall a few times because it gets scuffed up by people. Also, the cops have come by to shoo everyone out of the angled spots up front, but the lot is ok. Basically, there have been groups of people there before that have left a ton of trash, revving engines, loud music, making a nusince and they don’t want to get kicked out of the lot because of what other idiots (lets face it, it is Woodward in Royal Oak) do.
Now, some people are much more ridiculous then others, usually the newer members. Heard a story of turning away members because they didn’t have a decal on their car......those people got yelled at online promptly. So, there ya go. I haven’t been down there once this year, hell just went to Woodward for the first time all year on Saturday! But that’s the rational for ya.

I understand now. But it is rather ridiculous. Especially considering the cars making the most noise on WW are usually Mopars ripping ass up and down between 13-15 mile; though I don’t know if they’re members of that group. It irks me the wrong way. And even when I’ve parked in the angled spots, no one is friendly to outsiders. As much as I felt like an outcast being the youngest member in the local Porsche club, I felt even more so at WWC.
I’ve heard that story as well, it must be true. I just remember when WWC was more open and not exclusive and it was a great spot because it’s not Royal Oak. I respect what they’re doing to keep the spot clean and safe; but the way they’re handling outsiders is almost anti-car enthusiast to me. And the parking cones blocking off the lot from non-DAMM members is tough.

Yea, can’t say I agree with it 100%. It could def be more inclusive, but they are so afraid to piss off the owner and lose the lot they don’t really take chances. I’ll prob be cruising around tonight / tomorrow, I’ll keep an eye out for ya!
