Never before have I spotted a Rover in the US! I lived in the Netherlands for 14 years and my mom still lives there, her boyfriend has had at least 4 Rovers I believe, he had a few Rover 600's (essentially a Honda) and his most recent one was a Rover 75, but that’s probably 8+ years ago by now. He currently drives a Peugeot.
Anyway, didn’t know they ever made it to this side of the Ocean.

I’ve seen several Sterlings and I think there’s a Rover 3500 floating around somewhere locally, but I’ve never seen any older Rovers that didn’t have the word Land before them.

Yep, they sure are a rarity! In any shape or form.

I saw a Riley Elf in traffic during a rush hour once and I was actually startled.

Yes, we got the P6 for a few years in the late ‘60s and early ‘70s, think they only sold about 1500 here, mostly 3500s. We also got the SD1 3500 for one year between 1980-81, with I think another 1500 sold.
Those were the last two actually sold under the Rover name, the Mk1 800 came here as a Sterling - they were going to rebrand the Mk2 model as a Rover, but ended up pulling out of the market before it could launch.

Considering how many there must have been in the UK, I’m still surprised when I see one.
Here’s an interesting local example of the 2200SC
Wait, what’s that on the back? COMPUTER, ENHANCE!
Er, why?

Eh, is that a decoration of some sort?

Actually, I’ve only just noticed that there’s a smudge on the boot lid, perhaps it’s a spare wheel carrier?

hmm, that’s a good thought, it could be that.
