After an expedited car search over the past week, I have found the one. Its a 2006 Acura TL and (Pending inspection from my mechanic) its the newest addition to the fleet. Just look at my sad Pathfinder behind it.
Its not RWD, its an automatic, and its not much of a rocketship, but it is quiet, comfortable, and has more toys than I have EVER had in a car. It feels a lot like my old Volvo S70, but with a much less exciting engine.
Plans are to keep it stock for a while to evaluate its worthiness, then wheels, Tein Basis coilovers (Set to stock ride height actually), and Borla Pro XS for a nice quiet but deep exhaust note.
They had a new ZL1 there too, so that was nice.

Thanks! Yeah they are kind of a jack of all trades, master of none, but I actually love a good compromise.

If I had found a 6 speed I would have gone for a TSX for its chuckability and free revving 4. But since im making the auto compromise might as well get the bigger comfier TL and go full commuter car.

Congrats on the ride! I love the look of these TLs. I have an ‘05 TSX w/ a 6 speed, which is pretty dang fun for what it is. I think I love everything about the car except the horrid HVAC controls.

Manual 1st gen TSXs aren’t *too* rare, but my manual 2nd gen is pretty much a unicorn by all accounts. Manual TLs and ILXs are even harder to find.

‘04 with excellent service history and a southern car did need a trans at 125k due to a trans case leak, but otherwise standard maintenance it does 143 if you wondered
