Aside from binge-watching Saabkyle04 videos, I got nothing worthwhile to do today, and I’m just a bit confused.
I’m supposed to be less available and try less, and not look for women; all of this is nonsensical and conflicting to me. Maybe I’m think in an all-or-nothing mindset, but if I’m not busy, I’m lounging around at home with nothing to do. And I’m supposed to wait, wait for what? If I do nothing, nothing will happen. I’m in control of my life so I should be making things so but this is something I can’t control so I do nothing; but nothing should logically happen if I do nothing right?
This whole thing is like one of those stupid puzzle games that makes no sense. This shouldn’t be a game though. This can’t possibly be this complicated.

I’m going through the same thing, the answer I’ve found is just to do things you enjoy that put you in a place where there is greater potential to meet and talk to people. Focus on enjoying yourself first.

Yeah I’ve had times of overthinking too, it happens, to be honest it will most likely keep happening, but that’s ok. A lot of different people do a lot of different things in a lot of different ways. Some people will give off advice that you may think makes sense (including this?), but won’t actually work for you and your social conditions. Too many variables to account for, and a lot of ways that “aren’t wrong” with coping for them. Whatever you feel, just try to feel like it is yourself (because it is) and accept it, and maybe you can begin to try and feel happy about it. I like to think that everyone who lives is doing their best and that “common people” like you and me are no exception. It’s life, and, for better or for worse, sometimes some of us just get stuck trying to make sense of it all, and whether we will find answers, I don’t know, I don’t think it’s really necessary regardless but that’s just the way the brain functions for some people...

Is this just about women? You could find things to do in your free time that will bring you in contact with more people. Groups or volunteering things. You could always try online dating too, why not?

How old are you? I’ve been finding good places to eat and get drinks, just shooting the shit with the staff and occasionally other people has helped me just break through that weird social barrier or awkwardness. But that may just be my deal haha

Just try something new. Sign up for a painting class, yoga, paddle boarding, kayaking. Just don’t do it only to meet women. Do it for the sake of trying something new. When you find something you like keep doing it and you’ll have a common interest with the people you meet doing those things.

I think by trying less they mean don’t go out specifically looking for dates. Still go out and do things with other people but do it for fun, not for dating. Eventually the friendships you make might evolve into relationships. At least I think thats how it’s supposed to work.

Nah that’s exatley how that works, it’s just you can’t look desperate. Just start going to bars on off hours and DON’T even think about talking to women specifically. Just talk to whoever’s there regardless. Pretty soon you’ll get comfortable in the place THAT’S when you can start talking to girls.
Trust me, I’ve gone to the bar by myself multiple times and started talking w/ some 40 year old dude, but before the nights over I’m with a hot grad student.
The key is you’ve gotta be comfortable in your environment (doesn’t have to be a bar.)

I think you’ll find it’s more of the former than the later. Granted anywhere you go there’s gonna be people who don’t like you, but that’s just life. It’s something you’ll have to learn to deal with one way or another.
The thing I learned is that their view of you doesn’t have nearly as much importance as you think. I was depressed for a while and IMO the biggest thing depression does is distort your virtues and flaws. Magnifying the later and minimizing the former.

I’m extremely self aware when it comes to depression. But very inactive and helpless when it comes to doing something about it.
