Sad. My intent was to add another photograph that shows a different viewpoint of the event, pointing out the irony that while both the “protesters” and “counter protesters” hold wildly differing and extremist viewpoints, both sides prepared for and got the same fight they were looking for.
I think it’s possible to both disagree with the viewpoints and actions of “protesters”, while also acknowledging that some of the “counter protesters” contributed to escalating the situation. That doesn’t excuse the driver of the Challenger’s actions in any way, nor does it detract from the sadness that somebody died and numerous others were seriously injured.

Nope, we all get it. Just that the point is too close to victim blaming and “all sides”ing this whole thing. All sides aren’t equally bad here, by definition. One group is a bunch of Nazis – all of them. That is what they were there for, with their guns, tiki torches, and all. To exert their white dominance and to intimidate others. The other group – a lot of them, like the woman who was murdered, were just ordinary people, good people, standing up for what is right and standing up against Nazis by protesting peacefully. Have some people on this side taken things too far sometimes? Yes. Have these events been taken over by anarchists who have nothing to do with the thousands of peaceful protesters? Yes. Don’t equate them. And I won’t equate all the Nazi white nationalists with the cowardly asshole who drove a car in to a crowd of people. Happy? He was part of them, but they are all not him. If I was a Nazi I would be laying low right now and not planning another march like they apparently are.
