Looking at one of these, but I don’t know anything about them.

Kinja'd!!!

I’ve always loved these, but never known too much about them. I’m guessing some of you could teach me as much as I could ever want to know.

I’m a long time E36 M3 owner, do all my own work, just want to get a feel for what these are like to own.

So, let’s have it! The good, the bad, and the ugly!

The only thing that I know is that the Vigor was badass, and Acura needs to use the new NSX to reinvent themselves to what they were back in the mid-1990's.

Sorry.

Ooh, pick me ! If you can find a well sorted example, go for it. Maintenance wise, it’s like a big accord. Watch out for head gaskets and rear wheel well rust. Driving wise I really really enjoy them. The steering is phenomenally well weighted, and the V6 sounds fantastic. Good cars.

As a former Vigor and Integra owner I could not agree more.

I found a killer deal.

Stick, crazy low miles, good, maybe GREAT price.

But I’ve got an E36 M3 and my wife had a CTS-V before the Escalade.

But she also had a Vigor WAY back in the day, so this would be for a fun runaround instead of always driving the Escalade.

But I’m afraid our collective nostalgia / memories - and more importantly, the more recent experience with the V and my current M3 - would leave us feeling a bit disenchanted after we bought it.

The couple “old car reviews” I’ve found seem to confirm that suspicion. Namely, despite the looks, I shouldn’t expect anything even remotely sporty about the experience.

And when your eleventy-thousand-pound SUV does 0-60 faster than most cars on the road (6.5 seconds, surprisingly) that’s going to be a problem.

V6 230ish hp? FWD, I think during its time it was only outdone by the 7 series in length (at least in sedan form).

Our families Legend is now 21 years old. It has had its gamibt of parts replaced (shocks, CD changer, electric tilt steering column, batteries, etc), but nothing tragically catastrophic or out of the blue really.

You will want to see if it leaks oil and if the CV boots are torn as those are more expensive repairs on these cars particularly or so I’ve been told, I’ve kept my hands off of this car for the most part.

The stock radio is very expensive and pretty archaic, you can use it to negotiate, but I would recommend replacement. The electric tilt steering column is also a troublesome piece, we had ours replaced and it failed the day after the warranty. The window motors also seems to all be going out, but not terribly surprising given the age.

My step mom had one back then, I drove in it a lot, pretty nice. The leather seats were roomy.

Huh, I always thought that it provided a very engaging driving experience for a sedan, at least compared to an S600 or LS400. Much lighter and more chuckable. Then again I’m used to landyachts, so our ideas of engaging may differ...

It’s a V6 Accord coupe with a longitudinal rather than transverse engine. Wouldn’t expect much coming from an M3 and CTS-V.

Old guy selling a car for less than he should is just so irresistible.

I owned a 1993 LS Coupe back in the early 2000's. Overall it is was a great car. But more of a GT. The front-wheel drive and front biased weight distribution stopped it from being a tight canyon carver. With that said it was a great ride. The soft-close doors were pretty swanky except for when your friends felt the need to SLAM the car’s massive doors. Yeah the stereo is definitely early 90's quality, but it had a motorized volume know when you used the steering wheel controls. I always thought that was cool. For the most part they don’t need much other than the usual maintenance things. I would second the CV boot as the most common repair I made.
