If I wanted to autocross a dead stock heavy duty truck would they let me?

Sorry. A Tacoma?
Man there’s hope for autocrossing the 4Runner in that case.

love that bugeye shot, and the Tacoma looks like it might be set up pretty good?

If there is a club that would ignore their rules and allow it this appears to be it.

This is a joint event with the San Antonio and Austin sports car clubs held in betweeen but closer to SA. I could stereotype and blame the general weirdness of Austin, but in reality I think the summer heat gets to us this time of year and people just do crazy things.

Thanks! That corner was pretty far and I had to crop quite a bit but it held up well for the bugeye - others not as much. The Tacoma was set up pretty well and was decently quick. I had to leave early and didn’t get to hang around - if he’s back next time I’ll try to find out more about it.

I like it - it’s reminiscent of the liveries you’d see on S30 race cars in the 1970's.

a lot of nice cars there. Love the 240. What was the fTD for street cars?

How are you defining “street” cars? The Stalker AXR (the Lotus 7 looking kit car under the Bugeye WRX) took FTD and has street tags on it, so I guess technically it is a street car. The GT-R was the fastest non-kit car and a C5 Z-06 has the stock FTD.

I should add the Z finished 4th in class behind the AXR, a Boxster and that RX-8 monstrosity that I’m pretty sure has a V8 under the hood.

So long as the track width is wider than the truck is tall, they’d let you. Most trucks fail this test.

If you lower the 4Runner, then yes. They don’t want to allow anything to run that might turn into a rollover risk.

Believe me. I’ve looked. Strangely, no one seems to make lowering springs for a body on frame SUV.
