I don’t get these people, the fake M BMW people either. Do they think we are fooled? Do they just think it looks good and don’t care what everyone thinks? I find it hard to believe this kind of thing isn’t for others to see, maybe they think girls won’t know?

I always find the people who don’t notice don’t care, and the people who do care spot it immediately. So all-in-all a pointless exercise apart from making the driver feel like they’re driving something way better than they’ve actually got. And in that respect, I can’t begrudge them. Why not feel good?

The weird part of this trend can be summed up in two facts:

I grew up in Hawaii and certain cultures like that style, you will see Filipinos in Hawaii take a brand new Jeep and cover it will shiny pin stripes and strange decals. Not just young people, I had a neighbor, old man with a brand new Jeep Cherokee put crap all over it before it even had plates. And I know from being overseas that the bedazzled look is really a big thing in some places. Now that isn’t always a brand/high performance deception, I have seen Ferrari etc... on things that are obviously not, they just put it on there. So in this case I don’t know, but some cultural trends are not really what we think it’s about. The guy with a five year old BMW near me with and M stripe and an M glued on the back , I don’t know his motives either....

There’s a local highschool kid I see regularly who has a red Coblat coupe with all th Chevy badges replaced with Ferrari badging, and snowflake wheels with yellow center caps.

If it’s for fun and pretty well done I think it’s hilarious and I’m ok with it. If it’s a sleazy guy trying to fool girls then it’s just sleazy.

I mean, I really do like the color. But, the sticker rebranding is about as lazy as it gets. It still has the Infiniti badge and everything.
