So The wifey rear ended a guy in her 99 Civic commuter. Almost no damage to his car, but that didn’t keep him from going truly ballistic on her and kicking the passenger fender in. He got a ticket for criminal vandalism. Qualifies as ape behavior in my book. The license plate on his 2010 Vw read REPOLOL if that gives you an idea. Anyway, 95k mile Civic is effectively totaled. I’m getting a whopping $1228 from progressive. I’m heading down to the title bureau to exchange for a salvage title now. Then rebuild it with new fenders, hood, facia, and paint. Parts are cheap. The good news is the ‘04 Acura TL trans is rebuilt and Awesome shifting now. New Ilx continues to make me a very happy 85mph commuter.

I kept the car for $228 and the $1000 deductible was in there we surveyed the car yesterday. it’s going to take 2 fenders, a hood, radiator, grill, inner bumper bracing and two headlights...then a gallon on paint I think I can get all of that for about $1500. The nice thing is the car will look new again. I bought a bunch of suspension rebuild stuff along with eibach bars earlier this summer. Gotta get some konis next. It’s a lot of money invested, but it’s such a good little car.

I do like the HR’s....its a commuter though and our roads are rough...hense the standard springs for now. I’ve got many other cars that I should be putting money into. :)

It’s on display at Summit Racing in Tallmadge Ohio. There are two turntables at the entrance. My dad just picked up a non-running but complete and solid ‘53 and we’re commencing work on it too.
