$4,500 for any Eagle is CP. Especially one as half assedly modified as that.

My old ‘90 LX 5.0 hatch bounced around CL for a good while after I sold it. It had bad synchros when I sold it, red interior, terrible black paint, and poorly repaired crash damage. It popped up with poorly dyed black interior, slightly better crash repair, new paint, and an automatic swap.

My ‘98 Cobra changed hands on CL a few times, too.

I dunno 4.5 kilobucks would be pretty inline for a pristine Eagle.

Kilobucks is my new favorite thing!

Really?! Just for the SX4 or any Eagle? I could barely give my Eagle wagon away, but that was nearly 10 years ago, now that I think about it. Have they actually become desirable now?

Surprisingly desirable. About 10 years back I had two, a 1980 coupe and an 88 wagon, and I couldn’t give them away. I wound up selling them as a package for $2500. The coupe today would fetch around $5000 alone.

This one is jacked with though. $4500 is a bit high.

$4500 is a bit high without 4wd. As is I’d probably only go $2500-$3000.

There’s a cheap kit out there that does the AMC V8 swap and keeps 4wd too.

Wow... I think I got $600 for mine. I wish I had kept it. It really was a nice driver!

I miss the heck out of mine. Especially the coupe. They were really good cars considering their origin.

My parents had an Eagle sedan when I was a kid. That thing absolutely owned the Minnesota winters! The fond memories of that car are why I rescued my wagon from the weeds and brought it back to life. I lost my ass on that selling price.

I swear they were built specifically for the upper Midwest. And the upper Midwest alone. It’s a shame they didn’t sell better.

I’m trying to find a pic of my wagon now. They’re all on film though and may be in storage back in Chicago. I had a 1.5" lift, 235/75/15 BFG A/T tires and a NP229 two speed T-case from a Grand Wagoneer swapped in. It was as good as a David Tracy style XJ on the trails.

Were you ever on the Eagles nest forum back then?

That’s what I dreamed of doing with mine, but I was a poor E3 living in the base dorms then...

I was on the Eagles Nest, but I can’t for the life of me remember my user name...

Oof. You’re betting on the future with the military. I was persuaded to stay away. I was trying to enlist around 1990 though.

I was Big Chief at the Nest. IowaEagle was the guy in charge and there was a guy in Texas, Gil?, That was a hoot to talk with.

Damn, I’m reminiscing too much now.

I’m out now... Sorta. The military has plenty of perks!
