If it has the older version of the infotainment screen, it will be horribly outdated. Pleasant to drive though

Great 4.3L v8 which will never die and sounds amazing. Rock solid interior and great materials, but this is the generation where lexus seats started to be a little subpar. I dont think I could get myself to get that gen GS and not get the v8.

Nothing of note and nothing to worry about.

They sound nice and they drive really pretty smooth.

I’ve considered one in the past but never pulled the trigger.

Typical Lexus build quality, comfy interior, sorta sporty, but feels like you’re riding way down in it with tall dash and sloped front and rear windshields.

The GS350 AWD has an annoying hump in the floor of the driver’s footwell next to the transmission that sticks way up and brushes against my leg, which I hate. I crossed it off my list because of this damn bump. It’s huge.

I think it’s the best looking of the GS generations but from this angle it annoys me with the chunky huge C-pillar and the way the fastback rear window angle blends with the tall, stubby trunk.

Kinja'd!!!

The infotainment system will be mildly annoyingly outdated but that’s par for the course with any older car with a damned screen in the dash.

Not sure the price increase but in 2008 it was replaced by the GS460. Power was bumped from 290 hp to 342 hp, but with a switch from a 6-speed auto to 8-speed auto it also gets 1 mpg better on the EPA test.

Both the 430 and 460 require premium.

Best-looking sedan of all time? Maybe. A pretty nice drive, too. I find them a little too numb/insulated, but you could do a lot worse for a sleeper-slash-highway-cruiser.

Heavy, boring, and dated.

That rose/cherry wood is heinous. And the Nav is hopelessly horrid.

Use the engine in something else.

The 460 is rare, absolutely no chance I’ll be able to find one, and in my budget. The 430 is reasonably priced.

I can tell you that my dad owned one, his 2nd GS in a row actually, put more than 100k on it and never had any major issues. Honestly if the following generation hadn’t been so damn ugly, he’d likely have another GS now, rather than the Audi A7 he has now.

It’s not a GS 450h, and therefore can’t hold first gear to 70 mph:

!!! UNKNOWN CONTENT TYPE !!!

(It has a two-speed gear reduction device for the main electric motor. The power split device ring gear actually has the same ratio to the wheels at all times, but the main electric motor’s shift apparently does require it to back off of the engine revs.)

They eat highway miles like a champ. My personal druthers was for the 350, if only because I was never in a position to put the throttle down and the leg-stretching the V6 got when in overdrive was pretty awesome.

My chief complaint is visibility at merge points, but it’s minor and the side mirrors were decent.

http://www.motortrend.com/cars/infiniti/m45/2006/japanese-car-comparison/

4.3 v8 300hp, but more importantly it creates a bunch of torque down low which is what makes a car feel fast. Also highway mpg would be good for a car it’s size at around 23mpg(I bet it would be higher in some instances)

Kinja'd!!! "TheHondaBro" (wwaveform)
08/11/2017 at 12:09, STARS: 0

Damn, only 23? My Accord got 35! I would have imagined that the GS could sit at lower revs at highway speeds. Maybe it isn’t geared for highway driving?

Kinja'd!!! "sony1492" (sony1492)
08/11/2017 at 12:26, STARS: 0

It’s 3700lbs and nearly 16ft long. Like I said you’d possibly see higher mpg numbers it’s rated 25mpg but it depends on how you drive, after sifting through a forum post it appears the all time high for highway only was 28mpg, And average of 23-25. City tends to be 15mpg

Kinja'd!!! "TheHondaBro" (wwaveform)
08/11/2017 at 12:29, STARS: 0

So city is no different than what I’m already doing, only worse highway. That’s fine.
