A friend of a friend swapped a built turbo 1jz into his IS300.. put it on coilovers and nice wheels, got a nice JDM kit for it, had it painted a nice classy color, then it got hit and was totaled like 3 weeks later lol. Sad sad day.

Real talk: If a Lexus IS 300h SportCross existed, I probably would’ve gotten that instead of my Prius.
(The IS 300h exists, but not in the US, and definitely not in that generation. And, the current generation IS has no wagon, of course - the NX is what you’re supposed to buy if you want a Lexus “wagon” in that size class. )

Only in North America - other markets got the IS200 SportCross or Altezza Gita AS200 with an available manual. But, no IS300 SportCross had it, as far as I’m aware. (Unless, of course, someone did a transmission swap.)

I also love how the voltmeter goes from 0 to 18. Because, you know, when it’s centered at 9 volts, everything’s hunky-dory, and the car electronics will even still be running.

Yep, this. When I got my Prius in 2011 I wanted to get a Sportcross but it didn’t measure much better than my old Ranger, so no go. I was most concerned about fuel economy at that point.

And 18-21 is a hell of a lot better than 13, and you have two more cylinders than me, but also missing a blower.
