Seems good but I’d say if you can, spend the extra cash and get a Second gen. Yu can find higher Nike 09s for 7-8 grand now and I’d say it’s enough of a difference to be worth the cost.

My brother had one and the issue he had was that the motor was winding out at anything past 65. It was about 3500rpm for 70mph. Other than that I’m sure it’s a great idea

Uh oh, one is front facing and one is rear facing but will be swapping to front facing in a couple of months. Was it a fitting behind the seat issue or a the backseat isn’t wide enough issue?

Oh that makes sense. The first gen is a good car. The only thing I’d look for is water in the hatch area. They tend leak pretty bad, but not all of them do it

Two front facing might be Ok. Wide enough but barely. Issue was the passenger seat was so far forward with a rear facing seat beind it that I didn’t really fit in the passenger seat. I’d recommend taking seats with you to check one out. They are cleverly packaged but they are still pretty small cars.

Since I haven’t gotten the vin from the guy I went looking for a gen 2 fit and found one for a bit more. Its a one owner 2009 at one of the local Honda dealer so I may call them tomorrow and ask how much to does the check need to be to walk out the door with it.

In that case it will probably work well. I’d still check the seats just to be sure. They are pretty fun little things to drive. It’s a pretty old design now - remember it came out in 2001 even though it took until 2007 to hit the US - so mileage isn’t as great as you might think. Like any FWD runabout if the front end hasn’t been redone yet it will need to be. Our CV’s went out at around 80k. If the seller doesn’t have service records, I’d get the front end inspected, because that could be a pretty pricey looming repair. Other than that they’re pretty damn solid little things.

I found a second generation fit, 1 owner that I’ll be calling about tomorrow as it has way less miles. Its still in the insurance money ballpark which will be nice as it is at a local Honda dealership and I actually would get to call and say I’m paying cash, how much is it?
