My poor fingers

Kinja'd!!!

Installed my trans go shift kit today. It wasn’t (that) hard, but it took forever and now I feel like crap. woo.

Kinja'd!!!

pleasantly clean on the inside. nothing a few ATF swaps can’t cure.

Kinja'd!!!

Look how crusty my vacuum modulator was. I am going back through the comments on my previous article and personally thanking whoever suggested replacing it.

Still gotta redo the pan seal (luckily the rebuild kit came with a proper cork one), and I didn’t change the springs on the governer because the instructional video didn’t show it, and I have no idea what I am doing. I may just not do it. still gotta change the tail shaft seal as well.

Lots of swearing was involved.

Tomorrow I am not doing much, because it’s going to rain and I have to pack for my trip. Moonrise festival! Probably just going to do some wiring prep.

as long as you are setting there with the trans out, replace that rubber grommet that seals the dip-stick tube to the top of the transmission........

Yeah, I think I need to get a whole new tube as well, I bent the crap out of it getting it out of the car. I think the new tube will come with one.

As someone who is currently battling a trans fluid leak in a TH400 you might want to check both the rear seal and the stupid O-ring and rubber seal on the speedo assembly.

I got a new rear main, didn’t have time to install it today. From the wet spots it looks like every seal is leaking.

I’m concerned that you’re doing trans work yet there is a nut splitter on the ground in the second picture?

I had some trouble with a line not coming out. Nut was rounding , it fixed it.
