It comes with the 2.7 V6 Ecoboost engine and AWD. Putting out 315 horsepower and 350 lb-feet of torque. Prices start at $40,900 which puts it about $7,000 away from the base price of the Fusion Sport.
I wouldn’t buy one but I commend them for making it. I was surprised to learn it even existed, especially with that power plant.

It’s interesting on paper but I’ve driven one and it’s basically another perfectly fine boring crossover that happens to have a nice motor. The variable-ratio steering is annoying.

Man, that “Audi-Kia”front end is ubiquitous / looking old.
Ford really needs a new look.

I’d rather have it than most small SUVs on sale right now for the power alone.

If I was going to replace my current soccer-dad mobile with a new one it would probably be something like that. Luckily for me my wife really wants me to finally replace the Mustang I sold 5 years ago with something in the pony car category. Specifically she thinks the Challenger would suit me. Of course it’s all academic since it’s going to be a couple of years.

They cost more than an explorer, yet are smaller, I don’t get it.

It’s not that small.

True, that is the base for the sport model though not the whole range of explorers

My senior year of HS I did a senior project at a Ford dealership. This was 2012 and the Edge sport existed then. I remember a guy came in wanting snow tires to be put on his Edge sport. I imagine the tires it comes with are shitty in the snow. Turns out snow tires were not available for whatever size tires it had.

Similar to the Murano being positioned more premium than the larger Pathfinder. Physical size does not determine value.

I miss the previous gen Edge Sport. It had the 3.7 V6 from the mustang and hilariously big wheels. It was a riot to drive, apparently.
