Optimistic take - very cool and inspiring.

Pessimistic take?

...Today’s young men, driving sky buses in an increasingly more challenging regulatory and economic environment, hoping they’ll make it to retirement before full automation kicks in because we aren’t going to pay pilots if we don’t need them...are we?

British airways - Make money. Don’t crash.

Will we see Concorde in the skies again?

Maybe. A band of former captains, charterers and aviation fans, known as Club Concorde, claims to have raised £120m to buy one of the planes. It is hoped to be in the air by 2019 (the 50th anniversary of the aircraft’s rst test ight), performing at airshows and events, as well as being available for private charter.

Needs more Comet, but I like it - and I like flying BA, too—

It’s time for another Concorde. There, I said it. One of the worst parts about this ad is how you can see that things have gone backwards.

No, it doesn’t make sense to fly the old Concordes but a new one with new materials, new engine tech, and a new design - let’s do that.

It’s like the ad went: MGB, Jag XKE, F-Type, Vauxhall Zafira. You can’t let this shit end on Vauxhall Zafira.

Yes, the Comet was distinctly absent. If you’re going to go back to the days before BA, you have to include BOAC, which operated the first Comets before they were removed from service. Otherwise, it’s a neat encyclopedia of British civil aviation history.

To be fair, they can only include so many aircraft - and for many people, the VC-10 might remind them of BOAC more than the Comet.

It’s neat how they included both the BEA and BOAC liveries - and the speedbird - prominently. A great ad —
