I share this with you because you’re my friends and I trust you not to steal my $40 (+$6.95 S&H) screwdriver while I’m at work. Shipping took a bit longer, because I ordered directly from Wiha, so I could get an extra ten bits. Does anyone need a bunch of Pozidrive and Square bits? No. But whatever. It was basically the same.

As you can see, the American version is much more focused on its utility, while the German video is much more focused on how sexy screw drivers are and how efficient having bits stored in the handle is, and how sexy efficiency is. 20% of Germany’s current population was conceived with that video in the background.
Now, I say this as someone whose ethno-religious background was particularly persecuted by the Germans: Sure the “best” side won the war, but sometimes you just have to wonder.

I love Wiha tools, and have several, but of course, not enough. I’ve never seen that one, and now I must have it...
There’s an electronics store near me that I have to avoid if I don’t have a particular purchase in mind because if I go there I will spend every spare cent I have in the tool section. My ex vehemently disagrees, but I firmly believe that there is no such thing as too many tools.

I found out about it while looking at German awards for the best designed tools, because I live a full life and do exciting things like look at German awards for tool design.
It’s sold in the US as the UltraDrive and is $38 on Amazon, but for the same price, you can order direct from Wiha with the extra bits.

No, you definitely do need Robertson bits. #2 Robertson, the single most common fastener driver of them all, because it’s ideal for every application. The best driver.

It’s literally the most common driver up here. You can pick up like, 20-packs in 2", 3", and 6" lengths at the counter of most hardware stores. It’s the go-to bit for everything. I need them in my vehicles because I replace the rusted out trim screws with stainless self-drillers, which always are a #2 Robertson. I’m not kidding when I say it’s the single most common driver, because it’s the best.

Are you Canadian? Cause they like the square drives up there, but good old Henry ford picked Phillips for us ‘muricans. Something like that anyway, I’m pretty sure there were some anti competitive practices involved as well.

Lol, yeah the article I read said that the Robertson fastners were better than Phillips, but due to some BS with Henry ford, they were effectively locked out of the US market. But Canada ate that shit up, hence my assumption you’re Canadian, because we don’t have as much exposure down here to the Robertson fastners.
