Went to fire it up to move it into a garage to fix the leaking trans input seal.

Which of course means completely exploding everything out from under it.

And then installing a 90-cent bit of metal and rubber. I think it was five very unhurried hours to get to this point. I was kinda savouring the alone time.

I left it propped up with the nose down overnight to see if it’s good, cause I don’t quite trust my own ability to put in seals. I’ve mangled far more than I’ve inserted properly. This one looks good, but I’m not positive until I know.

Plan is to leave on Friday night for the LeMons Car Weeeeeak rally. Hopefully I’m taking the Niva, but there are two other candidates lurking in reserve.

Were those wheels on the Lada factory? BSA...?

Yeah, factory wheels.

And it’s not exactly back on the road... If anything it’s further off. It went from running and driving to siting on jack stands with nothing between the engine and wheels. Hopefully it goes back together tonight.
