Black Box G1-W dashcam saving issues.

I got three separate accidents on camera last week and saved each of those files. However, not a single one is on my memory card now. Needless to say, I’m pissed. It must have written over those protected files. How can I be absolutely sure in the future that it will save what I want?

It also doesn’t care what goes in the protected folder, evidently. Some of my protected things go outside of it and some non-protected files end up in there. Also, sometimes it will randomly put protection over something without me telling it to. (And the G sensor is off)

Seriously, this thing can be a godsend, but it’s crazy unreliable now.

I received one of these from a reputable site as a Christmas gift and it was GARBAGE. Never saved the date, never saved the files properly. It could only store the date for like 1 hour anytime I turned off the car longer than that it would reset to 1/1/2000. Mad annoying. Fuck this dash cam.

I would immediately download them to a computer to avoid that. I just bought my first dash cam which is an anker Roav last week so I can’t comment on longevity but have been happy with it so far.

I had no idea there was a protected file setting on them. I’d just download it off your computer instantly

I always just pull the clips I want off of it as soon as I get home when possible, so I’ve never had this issue.
